Roshi I am very grateful for your teaching.

But why so much suffering and pain in the world? The reason is evil mind of sentient being, who creates his own hell (or heaven) by hurting other sentient beings and getting just rewards for these activities. Suffering does not come from outside. It is internal cause and effect principle. If one doesn't want to suffer any more one should pay attention to his actions of body, speech and thought. One can eliminate completely suffering by eliminating his harmful actions or through awakening.
Feb 1, 2013 dtseringdorje Says:
Not only that. As the Buddha relaxing on the right side, he sees everything as projection of his so called "mind" and beings as creations of this mind of his. So If he changed his point of view, then everything in the projection changed with him. He enlightened the world in one moment. Done and that's it. Bodhisattvas being in ignorance to the source of this world-dream, are seeing beings as suffering entities, so being deluded toil, life after life to save those who are already saved by Buddhas

I like this teaching. Small adjustment. On the left works a Bodhisatva, tiredly toiling in the world bringing water and food to the needy, often falling into an attachment sickness called OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. On the other side of a "triangle" sits a Buddha, completely unattached at rest, at peace. He knows himself and all. But he sees there is nothing special to attain, 'cause everything is already in front of him in the first place, no beings to save, 'cause all are already saved
Jan 22, 2013 Sir Whistler Says:
another idiot that does not understand trying to be somebody. There is no right side of the triangle stupid. Freedom comes from losing your fear and not letting ambition and the ego rule you. The world needs no help from us it is perfect. People are the problem (those who are asleep). You are a fraud

Dennis you are not a Zen master. You had to disrobe and stop teaching remember? You also lied and conducted hate campaigns and slept with students. So how about you cut the crap? You have been the cause of a lot of suffering yourself after all.

I agree - this is certainly not a teaching for me. I am obviously not skilled enough as a human being to understand this!

"Genpo Roshi has mastered detachment in his own life". How? Is he dead? Nobody can do that. Buddha never did that. This guy gives wrong teaching. He's not a Zen master.
Mar 6, 2012 fergusfox Says:
- about 12months ago Genpo, admitted to having abused his authority by engaging in sexual misconduct with (at least) one senior student. Sadly, for his other students this was not the first time he has let them down. He allegdly had other sexual affairs about twenty years ago. He apparently continues to teach his very expensive, so-called "Big Mind" stuff. I feel sorry for his family and his (former) students.

Genpo Roshi has mastered detachment in his own life, that's why I trust him completely. He went so far that he even detached from common decency and morality, such as: "do not make money with the Dharma" or "do not abuse teacher status to have sexual relationship with students".

Love this message. Wish Buddhism in general also gave a fair share to aversion as well. In essence we can be attached to fear or aversion and not even know it because it's what's NOT there. Silently making us miserable (potentially). I really love that he puts limits on non-attachment too. Caring is good and also not good.

2:16 - "Think about the caring as an attachment." I don't connect to his idea of "guilt" created by "not caring enough". Guilt is something different, guilt is not about attachment at all (unless it's attachment to a self-image of being guilty). I thought he was going to go on to say something about the suffering created by becoming attached to a particular outcome when you care, e.g. "I care about my children and I am hurt when I offer advice and they don't take it", or similar.

I doubt it. Suffering is what points out where you are stuck in some form of attachment.
