I just purchased my first iPad specifically to use this app with my 16.4.2. In my 30+ years of drumming, I have never been happier! Whether I'm playing live or just practicing with pre-recorded music, to be able to sit behind my kit and have complete control over what I hear in my in ear monitors is a dream. The EQ, the effects, everything! I'm sure it's great for other musicians, but from a drummers perspective, I simply love having my own monitor mix control at my fingertips. Awesome!

such a shame that these consoles don't have motorised faders.. a really love this gear!, i understand that putting in the motorised faders would add a lot of cost to these devices.. but maybe it could be an optional extra??.. love this gear though!

On the brand new UC1.6, you now have SMAART Spectograph that can help you ring out monitors.

On the SL24.4.2 you have eight 31 band GEQ's that are assignable to any of the Auxes, Subgroups or Main Output. On the SL16.4.2, you have a 31band GEQ on each of the Auxes and on the Main Output. On the SL1602 you have one stereo GEQ on the main output only, but you still have parametrics available for the Auxes.

Oh and is the Graphic EQ also available in the 16-4-2? Or is it just for the 24 channel board?
Jun 14, 2012 ChiroVette Says:
Absolutely amazing!!! I had no idea you had a 31 band graphic EQ on this board because I thought it was all parametric! Question: You demonstrated the graphic EQ on one of the Aux Sends, but can you use the graphic EQ on the channels and for the FOH, individual channels, and for things like "ringing out" the front end?

We have no plans for Android at this time as there are many, many Android devices with varying operating systems and screen resoultions. We would have to develop separately for all of these variables and the end result would be a less consistent user experience. The Apple platform has much lower variation in devices. We recommend getting a used iPod touch for under $100.

will the assignable GEQ work on the aux busses for the 16.0.2 as well? why is this function available as a hardware feature only on the studiolive 24?
May 24, 2011 Rick Naqvi Says:
You can connect two mixers however you have to connect to one mixer at a time, just like in VSL.
Apr 21, 2011 Kyle Dolbear Says:
So does this also work with two linked 16 channel mixers?
Apr 13, 2011 Jim Purtle Says:
Wow. This is a much more elegant solution for individual aux mixes than an Aviom system, and for about the same price you're getting a much more versatile system: Aviom is limited to 16 channels. Aviom personal mixers are $600+ each right now, compared to $500 for the base model iPad. (And, it's an iPad. You can do a few other things with it!) The Aviom input module is around $1200, which is cheaper than a StudioLive, but the SL is MUCH more versatile. Aviom's big advantage: the digital snake.

Nothing happens to the faders on the mixer itself. It will jump to whatever position (physical) it's in when you start to move it. You don't need much of a PC. Almost any puter with Wi-Fi that will let you set up a peer to peer network will do. Even adding say a Mac Mini, barely bigger than a power supply is still way economical for the coolness It saved me LOADS of time probably 40 minutes of set up Wednesday not needing a snake. 3 of the band members had iPads too, but they didn't have the app

I'm confused...in the first video that I saw for the StudioLive boards, they showed an iPhone controlling one of the mixers. They didn't mention ANYTHING about having to have a PC hooked up to it to make that happen. I was hoping that an iPad would work for this as well. In addition I've been planning to sell my Allen & Heath board to purchase one of these boards as it negates the need for a SNAKE and FOH position (which takes up venue floor or dance space). BUT...f you need to have a PC too?
