You grew up fast in 4 years. This movie is far from realistic, it's because it's not supposed to be, it's a fantasy cartoon. So take it as it is, don't add logic and realism where it's not supposed to be. Plus. Your statement is pure speculation. There's no predicting how the human race would react in a situation like this. In my opinion, i think after 700 years they would've gotten over the fact that their great ancestors destroyed the earth.
